Prepare phase A, using a suitable dispersion unit, such as Ultra Turrax, Silverson, etc., to disperse the hydroxypropyl starch phosphate. Heat to 75-80°C. Prepare phase B and heat to 70-75°C. Add phase B to phase A and homogenize for a few minutes using a suitable dispersion unit. At 40°C, add phases C and D, homogenize for a few minutes, and cool under slow agitation to room temperature.
(25°C): Appearance—Very shiny and soft gel-cream, good spreadability, silky after-feel; Viscosity—8,000–9,000 mPa·s (10 rpm, Brk. RVDV-E, Sp. T-C, after 24 h at room temperature); pH—3.5-4.0.
